Since starting treatment with Amy, I have experienced significant improvements with my chronic pain. The sessions greatly had a positive impact on my day to day life.

Amy is honest with her work; provides tailored treatment based on feedback and my needs. She shares insight with her knowledge and is very personable. She even recommended and provided me some great books to read.

Every session has been relaxing and beneficial for my healing/recovery. I highly recommend 5 stars!!

I had terrible pain in my right leg. She was able to take me in on the last minute due to a cancellation. The intake session was good where she took down my information however the treatment was poor. After my session was over I was still dealing with pain. Keep in mind I just moved from yonge and eglinton. I would have gone to thrive which I had success and also :Tokyo shiatsu clinic group. The service I would receive on the first appointment/ treatment made a difference immediately from my previous resident.
Here I had to pay first and the service for my treatment was underwhelming. I’ve included invoice and proof payment.

Hi Timofée, this is Amy Chen (Acupuncturist and Physiotherapist). I'm sorry to hear the treatment didn’t meet your expectations. I wasn’t able to find your name in our records, and no invoice or payment confirmation was provided. While some patients feel relief after one session, responses to treatment vary. Acupuncture often requires multiple visits for meaningful results, as explained in our new patient orientation.I strive to provide personalized, high-quality care. Please feel free to reach out directly if you’d like to discuss further. Wishing you all the best on your healing journey.

When I had a sit bone issue, a friend referred me to Amy. My friend had dealt with the same problem for months and tried everything she could, but nothing helped. Amy was able to help her, and I saw the results myself. That’s why I felt confident in choosing her when I faced the same issue. After receiving treatment and advice from Amy, I noticed significant improvement. The recovery felt slow at first, but once I reached a certain point, progress accelerated. I am truly satisfied with her treatment. Truly, thanks to her!

This is my second time seeing Amy for pain and discomfort at the back of my knee. Last time, she helped me with pain in my Achilles area and shoulder bursitis, and I'm now fully recovered from those issues. This time is no different. I noticed a huge improvement even after just one treatment. Amy is professional, very knowledgeable, and incredibly patient. I highly recommend her!

FAQ

  • Amy Chen (Registered Physiotherapist & Registered Acupuncturist) is passionate about using two different and complementary medical frameworks to create a comprehensive treatment plan.
  • Our unique treatment approach consists of three parts:
    1. Acupuncture - Our physiotherapist, Amy Chen, specializes in using acupuncture to release your trigger points and tight muscles. Acupuncture opens up the contracted muscle, increases blood and oxygen to the tissue, and restores length and function to the muscle. It is a painless technique that provides immense pain-relief.
    2. Home exercise program - To maintain the benefits gained after receiving acupuncture, it is important to do a regular home exercise program that consists of stretches and strengthening exercises.
    3. Education - We believe that the more you understand about your injury, the faster your recovery will be.

  • When people think needles, they think of pain. Acupuncture is not painful. The needles are hair-thin and they are also very flexible yet sturdy. The pain you will feel is like a mosquito bite sensation. Acupuncture needles are 10% of the diameter of a syringe that you see at a hospital.

Yes, acupuncture is a treatment method that is covered under physiotherapy.

The answer is usually yes. Acupuncture is excellent for any type of pain conditions that involves muscles, bone and nerves. Acupuncture is amazing in its ability to produce anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, and regenerative effects. Please refer to the conditions that we commonly treat list at the top of the home page.

Acupuncture is cumulative and each treatment builds on the next. Typically, a series of 6-12 sessions is considered a "course of treatment". We recommend 2x/week for the first 2-3 weeks, then 1x/week for 2-3 weeks, then 1x/every two weeks for 1 month. Improvement in symptoms can be seen after a few treatments, but additional treatments will create a more lasting effect.

Still have questions? You can email Amy at amychenpt@gmail.com and request a phone consultation. In the email, kindly state your condition and your availability for a phone consultation. Amy will call you within 1-2 business days.
